Interview with Grace W. Cartwright concerning her experiences as a student at North Texas State Teachers College (1926-1929), her work in the Parker County Extension Service (1929-1931), development of ranch and farm properties in Parker County during the Depression, involvement with soil conservation and New Deal programs, founding and development of Tin Top, Texas (1949) and the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations involvement, her seminars on the quality of rural living, her tenure on the Board of Regents at North Texas State College (1949-1955), her role in the formation of the Brazos Valley Association (1957), her service as vice president of the Beautify Texas Council (1978), and receipt of the Lady Bird Johnson Award for conservation (1984).
